BookSpoken
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
BookSpoken is designed so that your reading stays yours. Everything the app does happens on your device.
What We Collect
Nothing. BookSpoken does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party advertising or data services in the app.
Your Camera and Your Pages
BookSpoken uses your camera so you can photograph the cover and pages of a book. Those photographs, and the text read from them, are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
The Voice
The voice that reads your books runs entirely on your device. Turning your pages into speech does not require an internet connection and does not send your text anywhere.
Purchases
The optional one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited reading is handled by Apple through the App Store. BookSpoken never sees or stores your payment details. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Data Storage and Deletion
Your library, page photos, extracted text, and reading progress live in the app's storage on your device. Deleting a book removes its data, and deleting the app removes everything.
Children
BookSpoken does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date above.
